Features of the App

Do you want to let your loved ones/ friends/ neighbors know if you are distressed, you feel lonely, you are suicidal, You fell off of a ladder and are in great pain, you need help of any kind, you are getting off of your addiction, you are being followed on a dark night on a lonely road and are hearing steps of someone following you, tap, tap, tap – are scared to death whether someone may rape you-you don’t want to look back- but a mobile phone held in hand will be the savior if you Push the already created Red Emergency Button which will enable your “Why Panic Now” app to call your already stored contacts’ Telephone numbers – as already agreed upon. Push only one emergency button on the screen of your mobile phone.

Your contacts, that you have entered for help, will know that you are in danger and the feature of the app of letting your contacts know of your location, via Global Positioning System (GPS), maybe a lifesaver when your contacts will move heaven and earth to help you.

Roll Call

When anyone pushes the “Emergency Button” each contact is called in the sequence stored by the member. If the person called answers the phone the person who pushed the emergency button can speak with the responding person.  Assuming that the person requesting help is in a good physical condition to speak. The person, who used the emergency button, can tell why the person has pushed the emergency button.

Share Location

When the emergency button has pushed a map of the location of where the person is where the “emergency button” is pushed at is sent with an SMS (Short Message Service, also called as a text message) to the contact called.

  • The App collects information about registered member’s first name, middle name (optional), last name, and date of birth, gender, email      ID(if available), mobile tel. number, and residence address.
  • The App automates notification to emergency contacts (such as next of kin, neighbours, or friends) when a person is in distress.
  • Phone numbers of the contacts provided by the member will be stored in the memory of the mobile phone where the app is installed.
  • The phone numbers of the contacts could be associated with a mobile phone or a landline phone. It is preferred that a smart mobile      phone is used for this app.
  • An emergency button on the screen of the phone will be created by the member.

  • If the person called answers the phone the person who pushed the emergency button can speak with the responding person.      Assuming that the person requesting help is in a good physical condition to speak.   • If the person who pushed the emergency button is not in a condition of being able to speak the contacted person should know what      action to take. It implies that as soon as the “WhyPanicNow” app is installed all the people whose Telephone numbers are entered know      what their “marching orders” are going to be. So that there is no confusion of any party involved when a real emergency occurs.
  • If the first contact doesn’t answer the phone after a few seconds the second phone number is called. This person should follow the      same action just like the first contact and so on.
  • If no one answers the phone the distressed person has to push the “Emergency Button” again.
